Luis Fernando Muñoz ( He/Him ) is the founder and creative director of luis fernando muñoz work, a design practice engaged with the relationships between architecture, media, and material culture. The practice explores how architecture can confront the scale of the climate crisis by examining material flows, distribution networks, and the detailing of alternative material assemblies through print, objects, and buildings.

Luis is also an adjunct professor of architecture at Kean University, where he teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses, including complex program and thesis studios at The Michael Graves College, School of Public Architecture. He has participated as a guest critic for design reviews at Princeton University, Pratt Institute, and Syracuse University.

With over seven years of experience in design and construction project management in New York City, Luis has worked at Mónica Ponce de León Studio, LTL Architects, He is currently an Associate at Surface Design where his work focuses on the restoration and preservation of landmarked and historic building facades, as well as façade detailing for new construction and adaptive reuse projects.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from Texas A&M University and a Master of Architecture from Princeton University SoA, where he was awarded the Suzanne Kolarik Underwood Prize for design excellence.
